David Byrne

David Byrne is the Global Lead for Methodology in X-Force Red, IBM’s elite security testing team. His responsibilities include establishing testing methodologies and standards for project delivery, developing new offerings, and acting as a liaison to high-profile clients. David has worked in IT since 1996 and in information security since 2000. He started his career in security operations at Fortune 100 companies, but has been a security consultant for the last nine years. He specializes in application and embedded system security testing, with secondary focuses on network security and incident response. In addition to his consulting work, David has published a number of vulnerability advisories and security testing tools. David has presented at security conferences around the world, including RSA, Black Hat, DEF CON, SANS, Toorcon, and OWASP USA & Europe.
