Jeff Katz

Jeffrey S. Katz is the Chief Technology Officer of the Energy and Utilities industry at IBM. He is involved with the application, development and innovation of IBM products, services, technology and research for electric power companies, other utilities and related organizations. Jeff is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the primary industry liaison with IBM Research. He has contributed to IBM’s Solution Architecture For Energy (SAFE) framework, Innovation Jam workshops, Intelligent Utility Network initiative, and is a member of the IBM Academy of Technology. Jeff is also a co-chair of the Industrial Internet Consortium’s Energy group and a member of the Internet2 working group on the Internet of Things. He is an author on six patents in tele-medicine, robotics and computer vision and intelligent electric power distribution.
