Global Research Lead on IBM X-Force Incident Response and Intelligence Services (IRIS)

Mike Oppenheim has conducted threat intelligence research, technical analysis, and tactical operations tracking some of the most prolific and advanced cyber threats and threat actors in the world to protect government and enterprise organizations. He started his career as an active duty Signals Intelligence Marine for five years before joining Northrop Grumman supporting the United States Army and then the National Security Agency within their cyber intelligence teams to analyze and deliver tactical and actionable threat intelligence. Prior to joining IBM, Mike was a senior manager at FireEye / Mandiant, where he worked closely with the Incident Response teams to analyze malware, network traffic, threat actors, and their tactics, techniques, and procedures to deliver actionable intelligence to protect clients. As Global Research Lead on IBM X-Force IRIS, Mike manages the team dedicated to research, collection, and technical analysis of cyber threat actors to help protect IBM’s customers across the world from evolving security threats.
