Malware Reverse Engineer, IBM Security
Reggie, whose real name is Reginald Wong, joined IBM Security X-Force IRIS in February 2019 after 17 years of experience working in the anti-malware industry. He now focuses on reverse engineering as a member of the Malware Reverse Engineering and Development team. Reggie has been a versatile malware researcher responsible for performing in-depth analysis of various types of malware, development of proactive/heuristic detection, development of damage and cleanup templates and tools, process automation, and training new malware researchers. Prior to joining IBM Security X-Force IRIS, Reggie started his career as a malware analyst at Trend Micro. He led a team and help improve proactive malware detection working closely with the engine team. He then jumped to Vipre Security as a lead malware researcher working on various projects such as malware detection via behaviors, exploit analysis and detection, network intrusion detection, and automated malware clean up services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Saint Louis University.
