Steve Brasen

Steve's career at Enterprise Management Associates follows 19 years of industry experience in IT system operations, engineering, and management. Steve began his career as a systems administrator for UNIX International helping to develop the open system standards for the initial release of UNIX System V.4. Subsequently, Steve supported leading telecommunications companies, AT&T and Bell Communications Research (Bellcore), as a team lead and senior UNIX administrator. As a senior analyst for the vital records department of Wall Street firm Salomon Smith Barney, Steve engineered and managed the enterprise storage and disaster recovery systems. Steve's career continued at MCI Worldcom where he was instrumental in implementing the NIP switching system for British Telecom and designing operating system specifications for the Next Generation Service Node. Prior to joining EMA, Steve supervised a 24x7 enterprise storage operations team at Agilent Technologies to ensure disaster recovery and high availability of critical enterprise data. During his tenure at Agilent, Steve was also responsible for security project management and coordinating DS5 SOX auditing. Steve's "in the trenches" experience in operations support provides EMA with a unique perspective on actual IT operations concerns, needs, and solutions.
