Innovation Fuels IBM QRadar Leadership (Again) in Gartner’s 2016 Magic Quadrant for SIEM

Co-authored by Nicole Trager, Analyst Relations Manager, IBM Security.

One of the hottest reports in the security industry has published — and IBM QRadar is AGAIN a leader in Gartner’s 2016 Magic Quadrant for SIEM.

IBM Security’s Leadership Stronghold

This is our eighth consecutive year in the Magic Quadrant for SIEM, which is undoubtedly a testament to our continued dedication to customer satisfaction, innovation and growth. Last quarter alone, we announced 18 percent growth for the Security business unit. This momentum is represented by our placement in the Leaders Quadrant for ability to execute.

The success of the QRadar portfolio is a result of maintaining focus on not only developments in the SIEM market, but also the wider security operations space, marketplace and the various security challenges our customers face. Time and time again, our clients praise us for our focus on time to value, ease of deployment, threat detection and visibility.

The Magic Behind the Positioning of IBM as a Leader in Gartner’s 2016 Magic Quadrant for SIEM

According to Gartner, at least 60 percent of major SIEM vendors will incorporate advanced analytics and user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) functionality into their products by the end of 2017. We believe we are leading that charge, having recently announced our UBA app.

Directly integrated into our leading SIEM platform and delivered via our App Exchange, the UBA app leverages the curated log and flow data already in the SIEM platform, speeding time to insights. In addition, we now have over 55 certified, best-in-class solution apps available via the App Exchange, enabling our customers to jump-start their security operations, and address their main pain points and skills shortages.

The App Exchange is just one example of an incredibly successful initiative in which we’ve invested to better meet our customers’ needs. Client feedback continues to roll in at a steady drumbeat: They love our continued innovation!

The World Is Changing

Driven by the ever-increasing sophistication of threats and threat activity, and increasingly scarce skills and resources, security systems needed to adapt and evolve to remain relevant. QRadar has done just that by delivering cloud-as-a-service (QRadar SaaS) and enabling full end-to-end threat detection and response with Resilient IRP, ensuring success for our customers’ future.

We’re very proud of our position in this year’s Magic Quadrant for SIEM and look forward to continued success in the second half of 2016! To learn more, register for our webinar, “How Innovation Fuels Continued IBM QRadar Leadership in the Gartner MQ for SIEM,” on Sept. 8, 2016, at 11 a.m.
