Today’s cybercriminals have more resources than ever before, both to facilitate and commit fraud and also to conceal their nefarious activities. Whether by moving their operations to the hidden corners of the Dark Web or by conducting business in a variety of foreign languages, cybercriminals are aware they’re being hunted and are doing a good job obscuring their identities.

The bad guys also tend to be quite willing to collaborate and share information, a particularly big advantage when the good guys are hesitant to do the same.

In this short podcast, IBM Executive Security Advisor Etay Maor shares more insights into the current state of cyber fraud and discusses some of the latest fraud trends. Listen now – or download and listen on the go – to learn:

  • How cybercrime has become a low risk, high reward activity;
  • Why it’s easier to be a cybercriminal today than it was even in the very recent past;
  • Why cybercriminals have embraced information sharing on a large scale and the effect this practice has had; and
  • What security risks are presented by viral mobile apps like “Pokemon Go” and “Angry Birds.”
